Arctic Accents is a promotion project for Finnish music in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg in the autumn season of 2011. The project presents a wide range of genres from contemporary classical, folk and jazz to pop, rock and electronic music.

Arctic Accent consists of concerts and concert series together with a communication campaign; several concert halls, venues, festivals and ensembles in the Benelux will have Finnish music in their repertoire in the autumn season. All of these concerts are included under the umbrella of Arctic Accents.

The campaign comprises of a website with information on all the events and artists, brochures and flyers in different languages, focused mail-outs to music and media professionals and the use of other communication tools that will help draw more public attention and interest towards individual events.

Organizers

Arctic Accents is initiated and organized by Finnish Music Information Centre Fimic. The main cooperative partners in the project are the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux and the Finnish Embassies in the Benelux countries.

The main concert partners are Ancienne Belgique (Brussels, Belgium), Melkweg (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Rockhal and Sonic Visions (Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg), Vooruit (Gent, Belgium), and Saariaho Festival Den Haag (The Hague, The Netherlands). The main concert partners are committed to booking and presenting Finnish artists during the campaign period. The campaign will also feature Finnish music scheduled by other concert partners.
